M innesota, once hailed as a beacon of hope, family values, and public health, now faces an unprecedented crisis, a crisis not rooted in economic hardship or natural disaster, but in the slow and devastating erosion of public safety, human dignity, and societal order due to rampant drug use and trafficking. From the metropolitan centers of Minneapolis and St. Paul to small towns and rural communities, fentanyl, methamphetamines, opiates, barbiturates, cocaine, heroin, and their pharmaceutical street counterparts have turned our streets into warzones and our people into zombies. The time has come to implement a bold, comprehensive initiative: making the State of Minnesota a Drug-Free State.
